Jehanne is poor and powerless, living through a war that’s been going on for four generations. Everyone around her is sure nothing can change their fate, or end their suffering. That is, until our girl starts getting daily visits from Catherine and Margaret, two angelic teens who tell Jehanne it’s her destiny to leave the farm, befriend the King, run the army, and save her people — all before the turns nineteen.

At first, no one thinks she can end the Hundred Years’ War, and Joan herself doubts her destiny multiple times, but her conviction that her people deserve a better life never waivers. So with her new heavenly besties by her side (both dead, no else can see them, not a big deal), Jehanne marches off to change the world — by changing the hearts of everyone who attempts to resist her. Jehanne’s faith in the better world she knows is coming drives her ever forward, even as she gets closer and closer to the tragic fate that will make her a martyr and a legend.

WILD HEART tells a story you might know about a girl you probably don’t.
