Short Drama
2M, 2W
In 1959 Brion Gysin, an artist, and Ian Sommerville, a math student at Cambridge, invented the Dreamachine — the first art object in history designed to be viewed with the eyes closed. The machine became a focus, even an obsession, for members of the Beat generation who were drawn to the drug and chemical-free psychosomatic “high” it produced. 50 years later, Dreamachine instructions begin to surface on the internet. Build at your own risk.
An experiment in text, video, and action.
An exploration of friendship, greed, dreams, and dreamachines.
