Full-Length Drama • One Intermission
3M, 3W
Elliot has one clear objective: hike the Appalachian Trail the way his father always wanted to. Get to Mount Katahdin before they close the trails. His plan does not include getting snowed in with the half-sister he barely knows, and two strangers who seem to know way too much. In a town that doesn’t show up on maps, on a night that’s way too late in the year for snow, Elliot must confront the truth about how well he knows his father, and himself. Is it better not to know all the facts, if the real story would stop your pilgrimage in its tracks? A new play about memory, family, and finding your way.
Even Longer and Farther Away received its world premiere as part of The New Colony’s 2016 Season. The Chicago production was directed by Thrisa Hodits.
